Happy Halloween!

Before the big Trick-or-Treat outing

Go Hawks!

Yikes!

Candy, Candy, Candy! I have so much candy leftover. Having just moved to the suburbs, I had no idea how many trick-or-treaters to expect. I bought 7 giant bags and have about 5 giant bags left. Zack is in candy heaven.
We had a wonderful Halloween with the boys. As you can see, Zack was a Hawkeye football player and Alex was a football. Zack loved going door to door for treats, but wanted me to say trick-or-treat. He kept saying "you say it." One of the highlights from the night was the cotton candy machine down the street. It was pretty hilarious to watch Zack attempt to eat the cotton candy with his helmet on. Alex made it to a few houses to show off his costume, but spent most of the chilly evening inside passing out candy with Grandpa Scott and Grandma Jude.
Last night Matt and I went to a costume party. Zack thought we looked very silly. It was pretty funny driving to the party in my banana costume. Happy Halloween!

So sweet

Zack convinced me that he could hold Alex all by himself on the concrete steps. This had disaster written all over it. As you can see, Alex is a very big boy. Zack did great and I managed to get a pretty cute picture.

Look at me!

Alex is perfecting his tummy time. I am putting this picture on the blog to validate what a great mom I am (ha, ha totally kidding). Tummy time hasn't always been our number one priority. Alex is getting stronger every day and even enjoys it briefly. He is babbling and cooing like crazy. He wants to roll really bad. He pulls his legs up and rocks to his side. I think he'll be rolling before we know it. No more leaving him to roll off the changing table (I'm kidding mom).

Trip to Iowa

Zack, Grandma Jude, Alex and Grandpa Scott

Grandpa Kent, Grandma Jan and Alex

The Greats - Grandpa Chill, Grandma Sue, Grandpa Tony and Alex

I took the boys to Iowa last weekend. We stayed at my mom's for a couple of days and then went to Grandpa Scott and Grandma Jude's house for a couple days. We had a great trip. Zack loves to see his grandparents. My boys are so lucky to have so many people who love them!

Pumpkin Patch

We ventured to the pumpkin patch farm this morning. It was a breezy 45 degrees. Despite the cool temperature, we had a fabulous time. We started off by eating homemade donuts (apple cider cinnamon and pumpkin) - yummy! After donuts, we headed to the giant slide. Zack and I made two quick runs to the tune of $12! Zack could of spent the whole day on the slide and my whole wallet. We finished up by checking out all the farm animals and picking out pumpkins. We found 3 perfect pumpkins. Alex enjoyed the morning snuggled in his car seat.

Fun mornings

Zack loves it when his baby brother wakes up in the morning. Zack and his dad are the early risers in our family. Alex and I enjoy to sleep in. Here are my two big boys just hanging out in Alex's crib.

I love my new kitchen so much that Zack and I bake about once a week. He is quite the helper. He loves to measure, pour and LICK. I do make him wash his hands before we begin, but if you're having a cookie at our house, you're getting a little Zack saliva with it.

You can do it Alex!

Zack is Alex's biggest cheerleader during the oh so dreaded tummy time. Zack gets down on his tummy and encourages his baby brother like no other. Zack is such a great big brother. Yesterday at the park a couple of boys were peaking in to take a look at Alex so Zack ran over to stand guard by the stroller. It was very protective of him. Matt and I tell Zack all the time how he has to look after his little brother. I guess he's listening.

Crazy times with cousin Jacob

Bethany, Nathan and Jacob were in town last weekend. Zack and Jacob had lots of fun playing together. Zack loved to be right up in Jacob's face. Not so sure Jacob enjoyed the constant attention (LOL). They played well for the most part and argued like they were brothers the other part.
